The Puppies Arrive
After a safe birth I will post on the Oregon Bernese Facebook page announcing the birth & then families on the waitlist will be contacted in order. For example: If a litter of 8 puppies is born I will contact the first 8 families on the waitlist with the opportunity to place a deposit. If one of the first 8 families does not feel that the timing is right they can pass on the litter & family #9 will be contacted, I will move down the list until the litters list is full & then update my website & Facebook page letting families know when a litter has been fully reserved.
Watching the Babies Grow
I will post updates on the Oregon Bernese Facebook page with pictures/and or videos on my Facebook page of the puppies at birth, 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks & casual updates much more often than that. Because it is hard to send high quality photos over emails your puppies' photos will be posted to the Oregon Bernese Facebook page so please check there for photos & updates.

Choosing Your Families Puppy
At 6 weeks old I will be temperament testing each puppy & will post these results on Facebook for you to review before your visit. Puppy visits will be scheduled in advance for a weekend day when the puppies are 6 1/2 weeks old. If you are not able to visit in person you can facetime to choose your individual puppy. I want you to have the opportunity to get to know each puppy before deciding which one is right for your family.
I will let you know how each pup's personality has been developing & help you figure out who would be a good fit for you.
I do feel that some people will have a special connection with a certain puppy so I like to leave the final choice to you as their future family.
Health Care
While in my care your puppy will be on a health care routine supervised by my veterinarian. Their first de-worming's are at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks & they receive their first Parvo vaccinations at 2.5 & 4.5 weeks & second vaccination at 7 weeks.
At 7 weeks old we will have their health exams at our vet. Each puppy will have a thorough exams & individual reports written up by my vet that you will receive a copy of.
Interested in Adopting from Oregon Bernese?

Getting your puppy is a huge decision as they will be a part of your family for many special years to come. A dog can bring so much love & companionship to your life and I understand how important it is too be paired with a puppy that fits your lifestyle and family. I know the process can seem overwhelming, but I will help guide you through everything, give you plenty of updates & help you choose the perfect puppy for your lifestyle & family.

Our Waitlist Process
I have decided to change my deposit system to better accommodate families given that litters sometimes are smaller than expected, a female may not get pregnant, or we may add a female to the program and have a litter available sooner than previously expected. Because of these factors I will now be maintaining a main deposit list instead of litter-specific waitlists. If prior to choosing to commit to a specific litter if a family finds the wait is too long or their chosen gender is not born they can request for their deposit to be refunded & be taken off the waitlist.

1. Send in a adoption application so we can get to know you & your family.

2. We will respond and let you know if you are approved to adopt an Oregon Bernese puppy. If you are approved you can place a refundable $200 deposit to be added to our main waitlist on our website.

3. Keep up to date on Facebook & on my website about upcoming litters.

4. When a litter is born & we know the numbers & genders we will send an email out too families on the waitlist: if the timing is right for them they can opt to send an additional $300 deposit & officially reserve a puppy from the litter. At this point once a family has committed to a specific litter a deposit contract will be filled out & the deposit becomes non-refundable.
For example if a litter of 8 puppies is born I will contact the first 8 families on the waitlist with the opportunity to place a deposit. If one of the first 8 families does not feel that the timing is right they can pass on the litter & family #9 will be contacted, I will move down the list until the litters list is full & then update my website & facebook page letting families know when a litter has been fully reserved.

5. Once you have committed to a specific litter a deposit contract will be filled out & the deposit becomes non-refundable. You are now officially on the list for a specific litter & can move forward with the “Bringing Your Puppy Home’ steps.
Taking Your New Family Member Home

Puppies will be ready to go home at 8 weeks old. Pickup is anytime within 8 weeks - 9 weeks. Due to puppies being raised inside our family's home I am not able to board puppies past 9 weeks of age. If a family cannot pick their puppy up by 9 weeks they will need to arrange for a family member/pet sitter etc. to watch the puppy.
For older dogs/puppies over 8 weeks:
You will have one week from when you decide to get a dog & pay a deposit too when it needs to be picked up.

The deposit can be through Venmo "friends & family option", Cashapp or Zelle but the remainder must be paid in cash. No checks, online transfers, paypal or money orders will be accepted.

Each puppy will go home with AKC pedigree & registration papers, detailed care info for going home, full medical records, adoption contract & health guarantee.
Puppies will also go home with 1 month health guarantees from AKC & Trupanion. They will have had microchips implanted before going home with you with lifetime registration I have pre-paid so that the pups will always be able to be tracked back to you if lost.
Their go home boxes will have a snuggly blanket that smells like mom, their favorite toys & treats, probiotics, pumpkin and a small bag of their puppy food.

Here is the puppy food they are used too: Kirkland Signature Puppy Formula Chicken, Rice and Vegetable Dog Food 20 lbs | Costco
I will send the puppies home with enough food for several days but recommend keeping the puppy on this for at least a month if not till they graduate to adult food at 18-24 months old.
